Abstract
The purpose of the research work is to identify new possibilities for the structural-algorithmic synthesis of active power electronic devices, PED(A) of the most common classes, AC/DC (in both transformer and transformerless designs), in the following currently relevant areas: 1) increasing the converted power when using actually available fully controllable switches with insufficient unit power (without parallel connection); 2) performing the function of output voltage regulation; 3) improving their electromagnetic and power energy compatibility by improving the input power factor (IPF) of non-linear loads (NL); 4) creating informational and methodological foundations for the NL comparative assessment and for their systematic design. Rational application areas for such PED(A) are, first of all, traction substations with a capacity from units to tens of MW. The pressing relevance of their deep modernization is especially obvious in cases where their lifetime exceeds 50 years and they use a single-channel passive version of PED(P) in the form of a traditional 3-phase bridge rectifier, whose perfection degree is characterized by a reduced value of its IPF. It is shown that the considered structural-algorithmic PED(P) organization of this class provides an input value of cosφ1(1)=1, both during their output voltage regulation and when the load current changes (without the use of special negative feedback for this purpose). A quantitative relationship has been established between unauthorized losses in the power transmission line caused by a reduced value of the IPF indicator. New solutions and recommendations for their application are proposed. Mathematical and computer modeling were used as research tools. The results are presented in the form of oscillograms, tables and graphs.
